We're seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Billing Specialist to join our team in Culver City. In this role, you'll manage the full legal billing cycle, ensuring accurate time entry, timely invoice preparation, and compliance with client guidelines. You'll work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to support smooth financial operations and maintain strong billing relationships.
Prepare, review, and finalize monthly legal invoices in accordance with client billing guidelines
Audit time entries for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with firm and client requirements
Submit invoices through e-billing platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, CounselLink, Serengeti, Tymetrix)
Monitor invoice status, resolve rejections, and follow up on outstanding payments
Maintain accurate billing records, rate tables, and client profiles
Communicate with attorneys and staff to resolve billing discrepancies or missing information
Assist with collections efforts and provide updated AR reports as needed
Support month-end and year-end billing processes
Respond to client billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency
2-4 years of legal billing experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
Strong understanding of legal billing procedures, timekeeping systems, and e-billing platforms
Proficiency with billing or accounting software (e.g., Aderant, Elite, Clio, NetSuite)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities
Experience with LEDES billing formats
Familiarity with litigation, corporate, or IP billing practices
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
